What’s the Buzz…

A field of dandelions might seem like a nuisance to some, but it is a beautiful gift, from mother nature, in my eyes.   I love dandelions!

Keep in mind, these so-called “weeds” serve a very important purpose – bee food!  If you are considering spraying harsh chemicals on your lawn, please consider the safety of the bees. These tiny creature are so very important! Think about it…bumbles humbly and diligently work each and every day, and for what? Us! All of their labors are for others…

This weekend, I was so excited to see a field of yellow, in our front yard.  Take a look…

Roda’s Critter Connection

I have been on a very serious hunt for Spring!  It is April, right?  Yet, we had an ice storm this weekend and the kids have a snow day today!  A snow day…in April!  Are you kidding me?!  I did notice this adorable lady bird, crawling around on my rosemary plants.  At least the critters are waking up and finding their way inside!  (Insert eye roll!)

Awakening…

Awakening – Weekly Photo Challenge

We have had unseasonably cold temperatures here in Michigan.  They say that the corn should be knee-high by the 4th of July.  At this point, I am wondering if we will even have daffodils by July!  Although, yesterday was our first beautiful Spring day, with temperatures reaching a balmy 50 degrees!

A few signs of Spring decided to awaken…

It was a true sign of Spring inside, for we started planting tomato, pepper and brussels sprouts seeds! Soon the greenhouse and hoop houses will be filled with hundreds of seedlings, waiting for sunshine and warmth in the garden.

I know Spring is coming, because this gorgeous friend emerged yesterday!  She was very shy and not thrilled to have her photo taken!
