This weekend, I heard one of my favorite sounds in the whole world…the call of the pterodactyl! Each year, I am so excited to welcome these amazing birds back to our pond for the season. Ok…so I might be stretching the truth just a bit, but the Great Blue Heron sure sounds like a pterodactyl and looks like something completely prehistoric, when flying overhead. What a magnificent creature!
Grab your camera and join me in celebrating your favorite critter! No creature is too big or too small! And remember, be like the blue heron and don’t be afraid to get your feet wet!
Each Sunday, for the past year, I have written a post titled “Be Still”. It is so important to slow down and JUST BE. I feel passionate about living in the moment, breathing the fresh air of Mother Nature and just BEING STILL.
With that being said, I will no longer be posting on the weekend. I am going to take my own advice and unplug! After reaching my personal goal of writing daily, for the past year, I am giving myself permission to JUST BE.
Has this decision been difficult for me? YES! I admit that I am an all or nothing person. I give everything I do 110%. But, finding balance and a middle ground is a great challenge for me. With Spring right around the corner, my nature photography will be knocking at my door and I will be answering that call! I also have some wonderful photography and art projects currently unfolding, which I am so excited about!
I remind myself of a quote, by Clinton Kelly, that has saved me numerous times…
I think those are pretty powerful words! Read it…say it out loud…live it!
Since the snowfall on Wednesday, finding signs of Spring has been a bit more challenging. With that being said, let’s take another trip to the botanical gardens to enjoy the Monarch and Spring bulb room! There is nothing that says Spring more than flowers and critters…
Unfortunately, I left my “Big Girl” camera at home. My intent was to just relax and enjoy the magical moments! What was I thinking…??? Thank goodness for my trusty iPhone camera!
And before long, magic will happen…
Very soon, a beautiful transformation will occur. Growing and changing, the butterfly will find her true colors… and then, she will soar!
Grab your camera and join me in capturing the Signs of Spring.
