Be Still

10-14-17 011

Today, my baby girl went to her first homecoming dance.  We picked out her dress and shoes together.  She asked me to do her hair.  She wanted her wonderful group of girlfriends to come to our home and eat dinner, together.  She still wanted her Mom involved in her special event…

As I dropped her off at the dance, she turned around in the misty rain, hugged me and said,  “Thank you…I love you”.  As she turned to continue on with her friends, my tears started to flow.  She is a teenager, but still wants her Mom in her life.   I am not perfect, but I know I have done something right.   I am blessed with an intelligent, kind and beautiful daughter who is truly an angel.

Today, Be Still.  Take a moment to reflect on your loved ones.  Cherish your moments together.  Embrace one another.  And always remember to say, out loud…

“Thank you…I love you”

Love Yourself…Embrace Yourself…Just Be You…

Life at Midlife

Author: Mary Anne Perrone

I am no longer waiting for a special occasion; I burn the best candles on ordinary days.

I am no longer waiting for the house to be clean; I fill it with people who understand that even dust is Sacred.

I am no longer waiting for everyone to understand me; It’s just not their task

I am no longer waiting for the perfect children; my children have their own names that burn as brightly as any star.

I am no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop; It already did, and I survived.

I am no longer waiting for the time to be right; the time is always now.

I am no longer waiting for the mate who will complete me; I am grateful to be so warmly, tenderly held.

I am no longer waiting for a quiet moment; my heart can be stilled whenever it is called.

I am no longer waiting for the world to be at peace; I unclench my grasp and breathe peace in and out.

I am no longer waiting to do something great; being awake to carry my grain of sand is enough.

I am no longer waiting to be recognized…

I know that I dance in a holy circle.
