The Gift of Gratitude: Hope

Today celebrates Day 16 of my 31 Days of Gratitude: Hope

Yesterday was an extremely emotional day on the farm.  Velvet, our 21-year-old Morgan, has been having some health issues.  We have spent much time with our amazing farm vet, brainstorm what else we can try for this sweet and beautiful soul.  We have strong hopes that new medicine will be the answer we have been looking for.  Time will tell…

Velvet and I have a very special connection.  She has made a difference in my life, on so many levels, and has taught me many beautiful life lessons.  I am struggling putting my emotions into words right now and I apologize that this post lacks specifics…my heart is just hurting.  I am not ready to say goodbye to my very special friend…

I am thankful for hope…

Love Yourself…Embrace Yourself…Just Be You

  1. Not an easy post to write Roda. I can try to appreciate that bond as my daughter adores our dog Juke. He was unwell last year and she thought we would lose him. She had a minature tattoo of him done on her arm, just below her elbow, where she can see him anytime she wants. Morgan knows the depth of your love for him! Thinking of you. X

  2. I understand how these posts can be hard to write but I think that alone shows how you’re hurting and expresses how you feel. I really hope the new medication does the trick for Velvet. Beautiful photos. 💜

  3. I’m so sorry Velvet is not doing well. There are few things worse than having an ailing part of the family, whether they have two legs or four. Hope is what keeps us going. That medicine is going to work. IT has to work. You have to believe that. I am in the process of hoping/believing that I’ll be able to keep Levi around a little longer by buying him this customized chair that will allow him to eat upright and keep the food from going into his lungs. It will work. It has to. I’ll be sending the very best wishes to Velvet knowing that he will fight his way through this with your love and devotion. Hugs of the biggest kind to you both.

By the way, I love the snow stickers! Malcolm the Mailbox loves them, too. Yup, we’ve been talking about him so much I had to name him. ❤️💕❤️💕❤️ 📬 ❄ ⛄ ❄ 📬 ❤️💕❤️💕❤️
