Her Silent Strength…

This weekend, I had the honor of spending some time with one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful creatures.  I believe that every connection and encounter happens for a reason.  This beautiful praying mantis reminded me of so many valuable life lessons…

I approached her with much stillness and patience…terms that she modeled beautifully!  At first, her back was to me…

I discovered her on the barn door. She was about 6 inches long!

I slowly moved to face her…

She moved her position and slowly turned her head, looking directly at me.

There was a magical connection… she was truly looking right at me, as if to say hello!

It was obvious that I interrupted her afternoon meditation time.  She appeared a bit playful, as we both became increasingly more comfortable. She tried to teach me some new dance moves, but she gave up quickly!

She smiled at me…I know she did!

She raised her “finger”, as if to say goodbye and continued on her journey…

As she slowly walked away, her lime green body caught my eye.  I so love the color GREEN

Thank you, dear one, for showing me the power of meditation and how important it is that I make time for it daily…

  1. Fantastic post! In a few weeks, you’ll be seeing a Guest in Jest post featuring a praying mantis. I bet you’ve already read it on Rhapsody Boheme’s blog. So funny! I’m not sure when I last saw a praying mantis. It’s been decades. They are so cool!

  2. Pardon me ladies if I dare reminding you that, given the size of this beautiful insect, it surely is a female, which also makes her a serial killer. Remember how they like to end their honeymoon nights ?
LOL 😂 just kidding she does have an engaging smile…
