Be Still…

I have been a bit of a rock hound ever since I was a little girl.  Collecting rocks was something my Dad and I did together.  He loved tumbling and polishing stones.  We would spend hours on the shores of Lake Huron collecting Petoskey stones.   I still have his collection.  Although to most, it is just a wooden box, full of rocks, to me it is a connection to my Dad.  His tired and calloused hands worked with pieces of the Earth, making them his own.  Creating in his workshop was his BE STILL time.img_1668

My Dad was very much like a rock.  He worked HARD each and every day of his life.  He was GROUNDED, always.   He was WELL-ROUNDED and had many talents.   Even on those tough days, he always started the next day with a clean SLATE.  Dad never took life for GRANITE.  My Dad was the STRONGEST man I had ever met.  He was truly MY ROCK.

Today, Be Still.  Focus on your passion.  Also, think about that special someone who is your ROCK.  Take a moment to remind him/her just how much you care.  Life can be shorter than expected…never take a single moment for GRANITE.

Love Yourself…Embrace Yourself…Just Be You…

    1. Dad’s favorite color was blue. I never noticed blue butterflies until after he passed. Now, I notice them all of the time. It’s the little things…💚🦋

  1. I’m so glad I found your blog…I’ve followed and bookmarked and will be back when I have more time to really read and enjoy. I love rocks, have quite a few from the beaches of Block Island, RI. Enjoyed the ‘rock’ and strength words you used in your tribute.
