Self Discovery

I have spent my life searching for my purpose.  What sparks my soul?  I have discovered  that the moments in life, when I have the most clarity, are during my times of solitude.  Trust me, this is not easy, especially for a person that needs to speak/write 200,000 words daily to truly be happy.  (Or so I have been told!)

Where the water and sky meet…
I was never one that enjoyed time alone.   I left the world of education, after 22 years of teaching little people and found myself surrounded by solitude.  Solitude speaks the truth…  I let go of who I had been for over 22 years and began to embrace My Discovery of Self.    As trite as it may sound, I no longer lived in the closet.  I was finally true to myself.  At that moment, I found my whole self and truly began to shine.

I will never be finished with my Discovery of Self.  That thought fills me with excitement!

Spend some quality time fostering a relationship with your reflection…YOU.  Trust me, it is the most exciting  and rewarding adventure you will ever experience!

“When I accept myself, I am freed from the burden of needing you to accept me.”

  1. Nicely composed ! This takes me back to the time when I was on my path of self-discovery and I when I gradually start understanding my purpose and my true self. I feel happiest now as I know what I want from life and know that I am on right path !

  3. I love this Roda. We all need a little time to reflect. Most of us know this but don’t realize that the space in which reflect is important, too. You have hit the nail on the head, my Fairy Queen. ๐Ÿ™‚ โค

  4. Hello, Roda, I Love this piece. I just recently started soul-searching and self-discovery. (At least writing about in my own blog. I couldn’t agree with you more in regards to the time you spend alone, the simplicity, tranquility, and solitude that is felt throughout your mind, body, and soul. I look forward to reading more about your self-discovery. I found this inspiring. Thank you, Beckie
